Renderer Creation Failed!

So I am a returning player from over a decade ago. Bought a new HP Spectre laptop just to play DAoC. Downloaded the client, installed, go to log in and it shows me the server lists. Pick my server and the program crashes - "Renderer Creation Failed!"

I never get beyond that part. I've updated every piece of software on the computer. Uninstalled chrome. Adjusted anti-virus. Updated video card drivers and directx. Ran in windowed mode. Nothing.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I am technically savvy, but I am at a loss for words here.

    Can anyone help me here? Paid for a years subscription upfront and can't log in. Will just have to cancel the account and dispute the charge if no one is willing to help.
